Centre Support has two key focuses to support a broad range of services:

  • Firstly, we provide the ongoing support platform, products and services that allow educators, parents and the community to establish a meaningful connection with the NQF and exchange information amongst each other efficiently to promote best practice.
  • Secondly, we act as the catalyst that brings the early childhood community together to work collaboratively to shape best practice, define standards and consider solutions to issues of mutual interest.

Meet our Team

Matthew Stapleton
Owner and Director of Centre Support

Matthew is the Owner and Director of Centre Support, a child care consultancy supporting ECEC services across Australia. He holds an adjunct research position of Charles Sturt University’s (CSU) RIPPLE (Research Institute for Professional Practice, Learning and Education) centre. Currently, Matthew is one of four lead researchers applying an Australian Research Council grant to investigate babies and belonging in early childhood centres. Matthew has been a Head Teacher with TAFE NSW, a teacher with the Department of Education NSW and  has worked in education and early childhood services for the past 15 years. Additionally, Matthew owns and operates a 100 place centre so he understands the issues educators face every single day. He has visited and worked directly with over 800 centres across Australia, and trained more than 50, 000 educators through seminars, training sessions and conferences.

Meet our Trainers and Auditors

Tara Odgers

Tara has been in the early childhood industry for ten years in a diverse range of roles in Long Day Care, Preschools, OSHC and as a ESDM therapist in specialised autism specific service. Tara is passionate about ensuring that educators feel confident in their abilities and have the tools to provide a high standard of care for children as well as creating enriching environments. Tara strongly believes that our business name, Centre Support, describes perfectly the service that she intends to deliver with each visit. Tara will support and empower educators to be the very best they can be.

Julianne Sharan
NSW, Sydney

Julianne has 20 years experience as an Educator and Director in both Primary education and the Early Childhood sector. Having successfully completed degrees in Primary Education and Bachelor of Teaching Early Childhood, Julianne began her career teaching K-6 classes before moving into the Early Childhood field. Having worked in Home-based childcare, Family Day care and Long Day Care settings as an Early Childhood Teacher, Julianne was also a validator/assessor for NCAC for 4 years. Over the past 9 years Julianne has owned and directed a long day care and OSHC service where she is currently the Director and Educational Leader. Julianne is passionate about delivering high quality education to children and enjoys sharing her knowledge of NQF, EYLF, MTOP and leadership skills from a practical and realistic perspective. Julianne understands the demands and pressures educators face every day and loves to share her stories and suggestions to provide meaningful training and be a true advocate for Early Childhood Education.

Kirsty MacGregor
NSW, Central Coast/Hunter

Kirsty is an Early Childhood Teacher with more than 15 years experience in the ECEC sector and a proven track record achieving high quality learning outcomes. She currently guides practices across several services and has recently led two centres to an ‘Exceeding’ assessment rating. Kirsty is passionate about sharing her knowledge from a practical and realistic perspective, and understands the demands and pressures that educators face every day.

Kay Ralph
WA, Perth

Kay Ralph has extensive experience in our industry and training as a primary school teacher. Kay entered early childhood in 1985 as the owner of a sessional kindergarten which later expanded into a long day care service in 1987. She was the owner and qualified educator at North Beach Playschool from 1987 to 1994 and has been the Director of community based service in WA for 17 years. Additionally, Kay is also involved in the Little Scientists workshops as a Network Trainer.

Lukas Ritson

Lukas Ritson has had huge success working as an outdoor educator in an ECEC setting. This experience, together with his experience in outdoor recreation and as the owner of a horticultural company, has contributed to his hugely popular Embedding Sustainability workshops.

He provides a  program that embraces the natural environment in away that is consistent with the principles and outcomes of the NQS and EYLF. Lukas is passionate about sharing his program and philosophy and hopes it will become standard practice across all ECEC services in Australia.

Margie James
QLD, Gold Coast

Margie is a highly qualified and experienced trainer and assessor. With over 20 years experience in the Early Childhood industry, Margie brings extensive knowledge to her training sessions to develop all educators in a relevant, efficient and creative manner.

Heidi Anders
Accounts Coordinator

Heidi is our Accounts Coordinator and is available to assist services with any financial inquiries with our full range of products and services. She has experience owning and operating her own business.

Narelle Montgomery
Assessment and Rating Coordinator

Narelle coordinates the booking and organising of Assessment and Rating Preparation visits as well as Audits. Narelle has over 20 years experience in administration and office support, including a role providing administrative support within a children’s service.

Robyn Parnell
Communications and Policy Coordinator

Robyn is our Communications and Policy Coordinator. Robyn has a Business Degree and more than 15 years experience as a policy writer and adviser to the NSW Government. Robyn is available to help all services, including LDC, preschools, kindergartens, FDC and OSHC, with policies, procedures and resources under the NQF.

Denise Wallis
Sales Administration Coordinator

Denise has more than three years experience in the industry and is available to help you with any inquiries about our full range of products and services.

Betty Antoniou
Customer Service Administrator

Betty assists our members with full phone and email support. She answers client enquiries and organises inservice bookings and processing. Betty has vast experience in customer service as well as business administration.

Renee Macpherson – POD Appointment Setter NSW Sutherland Shire, St George and Central Coast/Newcastle

Our Experience

In many instances, our knowledge and experience have been called upon to develop partnerships with a range of established institutions, peak bodies and recognised authorities:

  • Charles Sturt University, leaders in the development of the Early Years Learning Framework have engaged Centre Support as a research partner to extend their knowledge on curriculum planning for babies. More info: Media Release 12 July 2013
  • WorkCover NSW funded an occupational health and safety resource kit used by services in NSW which, through our NQF Resources, has expanded to services across Australia to promote best practice.
  • TAFE NSW, Polytechic West and TAFE SA use our resources to achieve high quality curriculum planning in line with the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Hunter New England Local Health District, through NSW Health, is currently contracting Centre Support to provide professional development through their Munch & Move program.
  • The Cancer Council NSW and Centre Support co-delivered a program to promote safe sun shade requirements.
